Plato’s Philosophy, LLC, d/b/a StackHack is an Investment Advisor Firm committed to keeping the confidential information provided to our firm in the strictest confidence. 

The quality of our financial advice and guidance depends on receiving current and accurate financial and personal information from our clients. We will protect the personal confidential information you have provided in a manner that is safe, secure, and professional. Plato’s Philosophy, LLC and its employees are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding that information.


Safeguarding Client Confidential Information

To ensure that our client’s confidential information is always protected, we have developed protective policies and procedures that require safeguards to access the information.

Information We Collect

As part of performing financial planning functions, we collect confidential client information. Examples include tax returns, account statements, and legal documents.

Our Practices on Sharing Confidential Information

Plato’s Philosophy, LLC is committed to the protection and privacy of its clients’ and consumers’ personal and financial information. We will not share such information with any nonaffiliated third party except:

  • To resolve client disputes or inquiries;
  • With persons acting in a fiduciary or representative capacity on behalf of the client;
  • With rating agencies, persons assessing compliance with industry standards, or to the attorneys, accountants and auditors of the firm;
  • In connection with a sale or merger of Plato’s Philosophy, LLC;
  • To protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud, identity theft, unauthorized transactions, claims or other liability;
  • To comply with federal, state or local laws, rules and other applicable legal requirements;
  • In connection with a written agreement to provide investment management or advisory services when the information is released for the sole purpose of providing the products or services covered by the agreement;
  • In any circumstances, with the client’s instruction or consent; or
  • Pursuant to any other exceptions enumerated in the California Information Privacy Act.

Use of Personally Identifying and/or Confidential Information

As outlined in the agreement between clients and Plato’s Philosophy, LLC, by accepting certain, specified offers with the firm, clients acknowledge thatStackHack, and Kevin Paffrath expressly reserve and clients expressly grant, the right for StackHack and/or Kevin Paffrath to use, distribute, and/or sell all or a portion of their “Personalized Wealth Plan” video(s) and/or their“Fundamental Analysis” video(s) for any and all purposes, including as part of future financial advisory service offerings. While the “Personalized WealthPlan” video(s) and/or the “Fundamental Analysis” video(s) are provided to clients by StackHack will be geared towards their personal financial situation or the fundamental analysis of a company of their choosing, all personally identifiable and/or confidential information will be removed and not included in the video for cyber security and other purposes. This means that although video(s) clients receive will address their specific financial situation and provide actionable, licensed financial advice, and/or will provide a fundamental analysis breakdown of a company of their choosing, the video (s) will be delivered in a manner that prevents disclosing clients’ name, addresses, and any other personally identifying and/or confidential material.To be clear, and for the avoidance of any doubt, the video(s) StackHack provides clients may be reused by StackHack and/or Kevin Paffrath in the future for any purpose, including, but not limited to, marketing, training, new products, etc. so long as said clients’ personally identifying and/or confidential information is removed from the videos before utilized for such purpose.

Opt-Out Provisions

It is our policy NOT to share nonpublic personal and financial information with unaffiliated third parties except under the circumstances noted above. Since sharing under the circumstances noted above is necessary to service client accounts or is mandated by law, there are no allowances made for clients to opt out of these types of communications.

Mass communications that are unrelated to services provided to the client by Plato’s Philosophy, LLC will include an “Unsubscribe” feature, which allows the reader to opt out of future communications.

We collect personal data as part of our financial planning services.

  • You have the right to obtain access to your personal data.
  • You have the right to ask for incorrect, inaccurate, or incomplete personal data to be corrected.

  • You have the right to request restriction of processing of your personal data in specific cases.
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data for marketing purposes.
  • You have the right to receive your personal data in a machine-readable format.
  • You have the right to withdraw consent from our direct marketing.
